margaretann bennett

Renowned Glasgow-based artist Margaretann Bennett's work is rooted in the figurative; evocative paintings based on remembrance, loss and the nature of human existence.

Glasgow School of Art graduate Magaretann has won numerous prestigious awards, including the William Bowie Art Award from the Paisley Art Institute and in 2004 was elected to become a member of the RSW (Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours).

Recipient of the Scottish Art Club's award at the 2010 RSW exhibition and the Mabel McKinlay Award at the RGI annual exhibition in 2011, Margaretann constantly pushes the boundaries of her artistic vision. Her striking figures and portraits evoke an immediate sense of the individual, lending an intringuingly expressive ambiguity to these beautiful pieces.

Some of Margaretann's work can be viewed as part of the public collections of St. Andrews Hospital, Fife and Princess Margaret Rose Hospital, Edinburgh.
