Well actually, I've been working from home for the last 3 years. I left my previous studio space in Hackney Wick a few months after my daughter was born as it made more sense to work from home while I had my 2 children. When I first moved my studio home I made big shifts in my process, rethinking the materials I use to make them as non toxic as possible, which lead me to use water based paint layers to start the oil paintings. The scale of my work shifted slightly also and the way I made the paintings changed; I worked on fewer paintings at a time, due to time and space limitations. However I am moving into a new space outside my home when the lockdown is over, which I am looking forward to.

I cook a lot, I really enjoy it and find it relaxing. Yesterday our neighbour gave us a big bag of wild garlic leaves, so I made us a pesto which we had with pasta.
What's the next thing you are going to cook?
I am going to make a big chickpea curry. It’s the perfect lockdown food to cook as it’s made predominantly from things that come in a tin! I make it really mild as it’s for my whole family. So you could add more spice if you want to. I’ll give you a brief recipe...
In a large pan cook one big chopped onion with 2 crushed garlic cloves till soft
Add one teaspoon of garam masala and 2 teaspoons of tumeric
Stir in 2 x 400g tin of tinned tomatoes
Simmer for 10 minutes
Add 1 x 400g tin of coconut milk
Bring to the boil and then simmer for another 10 minutes
Add 2 x 400 g tin of chickpeas
Warm through, eat with rice. It’s really delicious and easy.

Which artist-living or dead would you like to share your quarantine practice with? Why?
There are a lot of artists I would like to spend time with, but maybe I’d choose Hockney for this quarantine. I think he’d be good company and I’d enjoy making drawings in the same room as him.
