David Grossart

David Grossart's unique, bright and abstract style is embellished throughout his popular paintings and sculptured art works.

The paintings that David produces are aesthetically pleasing and appear fragmented, as if to give the impression of shattered glass. They are textured, interactive and bold, lending his work a freshness and quirk reminiscent of the cubist art movement.

In addition to painting, the multitalented artist also sculpts using found objects collected around Scotland. These are sturdy pieces, reflecting a playful yet strong element of nature to his work.

Originally studying history at St. Andrews University, then moving on to studying law in London, David Grossart made a huge career switch when he decided to follow his passion and love of art. His first experience with an art institution was in 1995 at the Leith School of Art in Edinburgh. Then after a stint at the Edinburgh College of Art, David embarked on his own artistic journey.

Since then, David has exhibited extensively throughout Scotland and has his work held in private collections internationally. In 2009 David exhibited his art work Madonna and Child at the old Saint Pauls Scottish Episcopal Church. This painting depicts - in vibrant colours - the Virgin Mary and Jesus like never before, giving an updated, fresh perspective to these religious icons.
